Thursday-January 26, 2012-Surprisingly AWESOME Workout Today!

Usually after doing a double workout, I expect the workout on the next day to rather flat. Today was not the case. Last night I had a very good night's sleep, woke up refreshed and ready to tackle the morning routine. After I completed that, it was time to hit the planche training and ab workout. I was a bit concerned about the 3-mile run to conclude the workout, considering I covered the better part of six miles during yesterday's double workout.

The tuck planches went fairly well today. I was able to put together three very good ones at 36 seconds. Not the full 40 seconds and there is still a bit of pain left in the arm, so I am going to take my time until the arm is back to 100%. The remainder of the workout went very well. I went outside, took my warm up mile walk and then hit the 3-mile run. I generally can tell with the first lap how the run is going to go. I was absolutely stunned at how good the legs felt and how easy my breathing was today. I set a pretty strong pace and held on to it! I finished the run in 19:27 (6:29 mile pace). This is 30 seconds faster than the run on Tuesday! It was just a great run! This marks a turning point in the cycle, especially as I approach the half-way mark of Cycle 27. I'm looking forward to continued improvement.

I decided to take pictures for my profile and, out of them, to select one to submit for consideration in the over 40 calendar contest, I was asked to enter on Model Mayhem. I decided to enter, if the old man's mug isn't up to snuff, maybe the body will make up for it. LOL!  I'm posting the picture in my gallery for your feedback. Feel free to leave a comment on my page if you wish since the gallery notifications aren't working! LOL!

Tomorrow I hit the second 300 workout of the cycle. I've decided that I will use the lighter 20-pound dumbbells to lower the stress on the arm during the workout on tomorrow. I will return to 30 pounders for the final 300 workout of the cycle!

I enjoyed the workout today and hope that everyone else had a great day and wonderful workouts.
