Sunday-January 29, 2012-Fate of My BodySpace Page, Planche Training with Tweaked Back

To my Naturalmusclemass.net friends, I apologize for this BodySpace rant.

After waiting a week for the rather UNDERWHELMING "fixes" for this website, I must start to consider the fate of my BodySpace page. I have decided to complete Cycle 27, which occurs in 3 weeks, and then make up my mind whether this page remains my primary fitness page or if I am going to put up another page during my 3 week "intercycle." I have been told to "be patient," but my patience is running EXTREMELY thin!

To Start:

  1. I do not feel that enough attention has been paid to restoring "community" back to this website.
  2. Pages are no longer "diversified." There is nothing but endless pages of "sameness." Much of the power to personalize our pages has been taken away (what pictures we want prominently displayed from our galleries and profile progress pictures).
  3. Features that were once prominent on our pages have been buried under too many "clicks." Most noticeably for me are the video links. When one comes upon a member's page there is no way to know if he or she has videos from just viewing the page. Thumbnails need to return to the top of the page.
  4. Profile pictures are too small and the ability to click them to enlarge them needs to come back.
  5. The PHOTO GALLERY is STILL not working! Thumbnails here are definitelyTOO small. Furthermore, information, particularly the date taken is not shown with the thumbnail
  6. Get rid of the dialog boxes that you are using with the progress pictures. They take up too much space and furthermore, some of the information that one enters with the profile pictures is NOT displayed (e.g. pose)
  7. Still too many BLOG errors (posting AND commenting)! Furthermore, I've not been able to track visitors to my blog. Why write a blog if I don't know how many visits the blog gets? That information needs to come back!
  8. Management of "FRIENDS" and "FOLLOWERS" is STILL confusing! Some of the followers I have were "stalkers" whom I did NOT add as a friend for one reason or another.
  9. Counters on pages are still inconsistent!
  10. FINALLY, since I see on the FRONT PAGE the "most popular" pages, I have to assume that PAGE VISITS are still being calculated somewhere in order to compile this information. I WANT MY PAGE VISITS INFORMATION BACK. I see "reputation" stayed on everybody's page, but not the page visit information. I want more than merely the visitors to my page that are now listed. These are NOT listed for the past 30 days, which is supposed to also be the case. My plans this year were to really integrate other projects that I've been working on with my BodySpace page. The page visits gave me a great idea about the effectiveness of everything I was doing to create a helpful and inspirational page. I have NO idea about how my page is doing now.

I am NOT the only one who requested the above-mentioned changes. The membership needs to be told WHAT is going to be restored to our pages, so we can make informed decisions about how they are going to use their BodySpace pages, if at all. There are too many BodySpace "refugee" communities on Facebook, which isNOT my favorite website. I've been "added" to two of these groups. I like the people and the groups, but they DO NOT capture what I had on the "old BodySpace." Furthermore, there is more than fitness on Facebook to deal with.

I have found a fitness website, which is certainly NO WORSE than this "new BodySpace." Furthermore, I can track the visits to my page. In three weeks, I will let my friends no how the new BodySpace will fit into my plans and if and when a new webpage will be put up elsewhere.

NOW THAT I'VE RANTED AGAIN...

I did do planche training today! LOL :) I KNOW I'm getting old because I bent over today while closing a drawer today and felt that old familiar pop in the back. I've been blessed, because it's been months since that's happened. The back began to hurt, so I put the workout off for a little bit. I managed, however, to get it done! Additionally, the arm hurt a little during the tuck planches. However, planche training has become frustratingly "interesting." My arms are as strong as they've ever been and the tuck planche position is the BEST it's been, but after a certain amount of time, the pain kicks in. I managed to get all 3 tuck planches in at 30 seconds with perfect form. After that, I completed all other elements of the workout with NO pain or problems. If you note below what I do during this workout, you know that is NOT easy. I've got 3 weeks more to train and after that I will not do a tuck planche for three weeks to see how the arm feels during Cycle 28.

Anyway, after all of the planche training elements, in and out of doors, I took my 1-mile warm up walk and then a 1-mile run. The back felt a bit still during the run and I thought I was taking it fairly easy. I still managed to finish the run in 5:50, which is only 4 seconds more than the run I did last week. I guess if I'd pushed harder, I could have run a 5:30 something.

Wishing everyone a great remainder of Sunday and a wonderful week at work and in the gym! Tomorrow, I hit arms and shoulders, varied cardio activities, and 2-mile run. After that I will take my mother to her appointment with the doctor.
