My InterCycle, the three-week "cycle" between my six-week cycles began today. I decided to build in cycles of "active rest" and recovery between my major workout cycles. The idea was not to become totally inactive, but to sort of come down from the six-week cycle and then gradually work myself back into the new cycle. I also wanted to make sure that I don't lose all of my conditioning and have to spend half of the new cycle getting it back. It worked really well for me after Cycle 26. Plus, my "old butt" needs to make sure that I get adequate rest and recovery! LOL!
I will post the three-week InterCycle in a separate blog.
The weather was a wintry mix of rain mixed with snow and I went out for my brisk 2-mile walk this morning. I still managed to work up a pretty good sweat. I came in, took a very hot shower, ate a good clean meal, and started preparing for the remainder of the day---a little television, but, most importantly some writing.
Not much more to report! I will feel like a "slug" for the next three weeks as I read about all the great workouts that you all are doing! Although the light bodyweight workouts begin next week, they don't quite compare to my regular cycle workouts and they are NOT every day! So I also use this period of time to really focus on my diet. Funny thing happened this weekend---I did Eat-Stop-Eat (ESE) on yesterday, but managed somehow to gain .6 pound! I weighed in at 149 pounds this morning, up from 148.4 pounds. I have to work on it!
Anyway enjoy your Sunday. I will enjoy the rest of mine!
