NMM is now spam-free. One of our members recently pointed out a little problem we've been experiencing. We were aware that it was becoming an issue (as the total number of subscribers grew larger, which makes the network more difficult to moderate), but sometimes it takes listening to the concerns of others before taking inspired action. We did, indeed, take action - The main adjustment made is that all new members joining NaturalMuscleMass.net must wait for approval before interacting with others within the community. This means that they won't be able to post any content, send messages, etc. You might be asking yourself what difference this would make if we eventually approve all profiles. Well, it turns out that spammers don't like to wait. Most of the time, their objective is to attract/gather as many email addresses as possible (by luring innocent individuals in) for a quick sale to sketchy companies looking to generate/sell leads. So it seems that even in the internet underworld, time is money.
We've implemented a few other techniques for warding off these evil spammers, but we'll spare you the boring details. Plus, we don't want the "wrong" people to know all of our safety tricks. In any case, we do a regular check-up on a daily basis. A quality social network should be moderated by individuals and not rely on spam-protection computer technology to do the job for us. This really is one of the differences between our community relative to others within the same industry. We've got humans keeping an eye on the network. This is not to judge our members in any way... it's simply to remove unwanted spammers, spammy comments, nonsense comments/posts, etc. At NMM we're serious about fitness/bodybuilding, and committed to offering a friendly, safe environment where you can get answers to your questions and/or share quality tips/advice with others. Therefore, we urge you to contact us if ever there is ANYTHING bothering you (or that you find suspicious) about our network. Also, we are always open to suggestions on improving NMM in general, so feel free to let us know how we can make this network a cooler place.
