Monday-February 6, 2012-Finding Motivation

After such a tough weekend, it was very hard to get the motivation up to put in the workout today! I was up at my usual time, got in the morning routine, and sort of procrastinated about getting right to the workout.  The telephone has been ringing off the hook since Saturday. People are calling trying to get information concerning my cousin's death and details about funeral arrangements. Sort an energy-sapping pall has settled over the house.

I did not want to miss the workout, but had to FIND the motivation to get it done! Finally, I just started the workout and the momentum came! The workout went pretty quickly once I got started and I went outside and had a very good cardio and chin-up session---125 (5 x 25). The only problem with the 2-mile run was that my course was still wet and I knew that it would be tough going. Another minor irritant was the fact that the gentleman who does repairs for us, has a tendency to park his raggedy little truck on my running course. He did it today, knowing that I work out. So, in addition to having a wet course, I had to run around the truck. I still managed a decent time considering---13:18 (6:39 mile pace). Tomorrow I hope that the back and chest workout will go better.

This week, I'm going to get back on track with diet, workouts, and my writing. I only wrote one day last week. This is horrible because the book is very near completion (fear?). Anyway, I'm redoubling my efforts to make sure that I don't get sidetracked by events which are unfortunate, but I have no power to change. I thank everyone for their words of comfort and encouragement! :)

Everyone, have a wonderful Monday night!
