Monday-February 13, 2012-300 Workout

I decided to do the 300 Workout, that would have normally been completed on last Friday, today.  It was also a good move considering the rather long double that I did on yesterday. This morning started off extremely cold---17 degrees! Fortunately, by the time I got through my morning routine and ready for the workout, which was mostly outside, it had warmed up nicely.  The 300 workout is now starting to go more like cardio. This is especially true given the fact that I exchanged the 30-pound dumbbells with my 20-pound dumbbells. The reason for switching the weights was to reduce the stress on my left arm, which has been bothering me. The 300 Workout calls for 50 clean and presses. The "pressing" motion with the 30-pound dumbbells really hurt the arms.  Even the 20-pound dumbbells hurt when I did the workout last, two weeks ago.  Today, however, the arm felt pretty good during the workout. There was some pain, but not to the extent that it has in the past. Once the pain complete resolves itself, I will go back up to the heavier dumbbells. The other thing that probably explains my rapidly improving times on this workout---16:06 today, as opposed to 17:42 on the last workout---is the fact that all of the exercises except two are regularly included in my workouts. I have gotten stronger and more able to rapidly complete these exercises. The floor wipers and clean and presses, however, do provide a good challenge.

After finishing the 300 Workout, I took a 1-mile walk, followed by a 2-mile run.  I underestimated just how cold it has been the past few days. Evidently the ground was frozen during my workouts on Friday and yesterday. Today, as the temperature rose, the ground thawed and I surprisingly found myself sinking in mud on parts of my course and slipping and sliding on others. It was a MESS! :( I slowed down to accommodate the conditions and finished a very slow 14:02 (7:01 mile pace) 2-milerun. Hopefully, today's sun and wind will dry my course up in time for my 3-mile run on tomorrow morning after the arm and shoulder workout.

I hope everyone is having a great day! I must say thank you to the new friends I've added over the past week. It seems that some people are finding my page in spite of the conditions of this website. ;) Hopefully, we will hear something from BodySpace Admin SOON! It's been over TWO WEEKS with no communication. This doesn't inspire confidence. Nevertheless, I will continue to press forward on here with my old and new friends. I will talk more about what I'm going to do about my alternate webpage next week during my intercycle.

Have a wonderful remainder of Monday!
