"update, the march bench press competition was cancelled. there is another one in may. the good news is i already benched 300#. i will be closer to 315 by then. bodyfat is now 10%. both goals met. new goals are 315# bench and 9% bodyfat."

Hey Chuckzilla,

About being stuck on the bench press and deadlift. Will give you an example a way I overcome my sticking points....esp. the major lifts. Was working in the 8 rep range on my bench and overhead presses making progress...then...BOOM !! Effort intense = Zip progress. So lowered my rep range to 5 reps then did 4 weeks it...guess what....BOOM!!! Progress!!

So try it, then let me know if it helped...Most Important is to listen to YOUR body....it's Yours...so take care of it.

By the way Chuck, my last comment meant I will never do drugs, like and Live for the natural feel of conquering and learning from the iron...nothing beats it !!!

Thanks man !!! Did a little but too many drugs in competition, so lift to learn from the iron, while enjoying kickass health too.

To a certain degree, I believe I have Chuck. I've tried so many different types of training over the years, but they were mostly spontaneous (and coincidentally contrasted with the philosophy of many of the bodybuilding & personal training "gurus"). I have to admit, though, that I don't usually stick to one method for very long. For beginners (and possibly even competing bodybuilders) I would suggest following a program strictly, but for everyone else I would recommend going with what feels right at the time. This is just my opinion, Chuck. There are some awesome trainers out there, with incredible results from their clients to back it up.
