Bodybuilding is a hard dedicated sport, and I can understand if most people don't have the genes for it speically when it comes to Asians. Most of us are struggling really hard to bodybuild but it isn't that easily done then said. I'm going to try become one of the few Asian-American's to try and be better than Ronnie Colemen himself!

James, I admire your determination. Few people have the guts to come out and say they want to be better than an 8-time Mr.Olympia, let alone an unknown pro bodybuilder. It's for this that I believe you can do it. Just get rid of the try part. There is no try. Always do your best, and take it one step at a time. Along this path, good things will come into your life... so enjoy the journey. Don't obsess over the goal. And never forget that training is something you do because you love it, and it brings great results... physical, mental, and spiritual. I'm rooting for you, man.

PS: You'll notice if you do enough research that it's rarely the person with perfect genetics who makes it to the top of a sport. Instead, it's the one who's determined, passionate, and relentless in the pursuit of what they are after. Perseverance is everything. Keep going!
Mario I thank you for your courage! Will do and will do it like always! How are you with everything?
I'm okay James. Thanks for asking. I've been focusing a little more on my training these days... taking my time throughout workouts, instead of rushing through them. Also been throwing in an extra nap or two during the week ;) It makes a huge different for me, even if it's only a 20-minute nap. I put on mass much faster. Continue along with your progress. You'll reach your goals.
Yeah nap sounds good right now, I'm glad your still going at it. I'm currently going to bulk til feb 2011 then cut up as much as possible. Lets do it Mario!

good luck brotha stay focused n train hard

Your packing on some good quality lean mass, it's just a matter of time. No need for me to give you the whole speel on what to do you can clearly see you have it covered by your thumbnail shot.

Keep up the good work, patience my friend. Soon enough you will be up on stage with your pro card ;)

Thank you Joe for your couragement!- Keep up with the good work... ;)
Steve I appreciate with the kind words!- Your ripped as heck man.. keep it up. Due to the holidays at the moment... I shrunk and got fat =(

Don't let that set you back I gained a few kilos over Christmas, sorted that out quickly with a good diet plan. Just be more cautious of what goes into the tank.

Give the body a week or two and you will back at your prime as long as you sleep (which i need to work on), eat (got that sorted) , train hard and push even harder.

Make sure you mix up workouts and go through different phases, not just heavy as most people do as this training will come to a plateau eventually and req a new mix thats when the high reps , high sets med weights kick in, and boy do you will them.

10x10 principle all the way, that's what I am doing right now.

I think you can do it. Genes or no genes, all bodies work the same. Eat lots of the right stuff and lift heavy and your genes will grow......Good luck!

James,

when it come to genes I say ahh ! you can over come that with persistant and consistancy, and hard work,

I've seen bodybuilders that were white ,black, asian, latino, greek, that some were blessed with good genes

and some not. Now from what I see in the photo you got a good base, so do not be so hard on yourself,

I know a few bodybuilders that are of asian decent and they have very good ,infact Damn good bodies ,one guy right now I know will be in the Arnold amature next week ,he not a thick massive, but he has outstanding symetry and very nice lines and has beat a lot of guy who out weigh him up to >60lbs, his name is Ty by the way he placed 2nd in last year amature classic and is natural, so try not to compare your self to some like Ronnie Coleman, who was competing on the juice, he is a nice guy and does work hard, but that comparsion is not fair to you, take the deck that God gave and do the best you can with it , I know a lot of folks who have seen my replies when I suggest to folks when they train to do the basic lifts of bench press ,squats and deadlifts, shoulder press, why? because they put on mass and the squat is the most benifical exercise I feel because  it a total  body exercise that promote an hormone release and  it will make you grow along with a sound nutrion plan , and I will have no doubt that you will gain size, thickness and density and when done correctly with equal proportion you will look good , so do not get hung up with  ethnic back ground is to why you can not have size because that is not true, it how have trained in the gym and attention to detail at the meal table and the amount rest your are getting is what will determine what kind of body you will, So my good man its up to you to what you want to do, so me  say it simply: GO FOR IT, and keep pumping

Eric.
